Robert Mathews - Acquisition & Special Asset Consulting
Mr. Mathews has 35 years of global banking and independent consulting advisory experience resolving debt financing issues associated with adverse market conditions, complex & less liquid transactions, non recourse special purpose financing, unique and out of favor industries, and international constraints. Prior to CDA, he was a Distressed Loan Manager for CIFC. Mr. Mathews has extensive experience as a consultant to creditor committees for large Chapter 11 proceedings dealing with valuation, DIP and Exit financing from bankruptcy, litigation support to Counsel, and as an advisor to project sponsors, middle market corporations and early stage business owners. His banking background consists of 23 years at the Chase Manhattan Bank and Barclays in New York, Tokyo and London. He has provided credit and lending/syndication/workout advisory on more than 90 transactions and $20 billion in financing to various industries: energy, electric power, mining, metals, chemicals, healthcare, infrastructure and real estate. He holds an MBA, Finance from the University of Florida and a B.A. from Washington and Lee.
Mark McCracken - Workout & Restructuring
Mr. McCracken has over 29 years of global banking to include extensive leveraged credit and financial analysis experience, portfolio management and workout /restructuring experience. Prior to CDA, he was a Credit Executive and Strategist for CIFC. Extensive work in the leveraged loan market included key roles on creditor committees dealing with complicated capital structure solutions that were successfully executed in pre packaged bankruptcy cases. Prior to CIFC, Mr. McCracken was a Senior Vice President and held a management position on the Credit Committee for The Mizuho Corporate Bank Americas Regional Office where he successfully managed multi billion dollar portfolios in both the international and U.S. lending market. Previously, he managed the Leveraged Lending Group in Chicago. His banking background consists of 22 years at the Mizuho and Fuji Banks in Chicago and New York and the Continental Illinois Bank in Chicago and Buenos Aires. Mr. McCracken holds a M.I.M. in Finance from Thunderbird and a B.S. in International Economics/Business from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Kevin Walz – Markets and Trading
Mr. Walz has over 24 years of experience working in the credit markets mainly as a loan trader and analyst of broadly syndicated and middle market loan transactions. Most recently, Mr. Walz was a member of the founding team at CIFC where he established the firm’s investment sourcing relationships, performed all par/distressed secondary loan market trading and led the firm’s public relations efforts. Prior to CIFC, he spent five years at PB Capital where he created the firm’s buy-side loan trading platform and managed the firm’s broadly syndicated loan market relationships. Additionally, Mr. Walz has worked in the loan syndication department of Sumitomo Bank, on the fixed-income sales & trading desk of National Westminster Bank (acquired by Fleet Bank/Bank of America), and in the corporate lending group at European American Bank (acquired by Citibank). He began his career in 1985 in the Credit/Management Training Program at European American Bank. Mr. Walz holds a B.A. in Banking & Finance from Hofstra University.
